A downloadable game for Windows

Controls: WASD to move, Spacebar to jump and double jump, E to attack. Alt F4 to quit


About a month ago I was wondering what it would be like if Nintendo released a 3D Mario game for the Virtual Boy. It my mind I imagined it to be something in-between the Mario 3D World games and the Astro Bot VR game. Then when I saw the retro game jam I thought it would be a cool idea to de-make Astro Bot for the virtual boy. The virtual boy could also go with the theme of side effects. 

This is my first game jam, and also first attempt at making a 3D platformer. I bought the unity asset TopDown Engine by More Mountains a couple days before the Jam because I like their character controllers.

I didn't get nearly as much completed as I hoped I would. I had plans for hidden robots, more enemies, music, and more. It was also my first time trying to get 3d animations into unity, and I never got the attack animation to work. I think learning new assets while working on a deadline might not have been the best idea. I also used a wireframe shader that I had never used before, and had trouble getting it to work in WebGL. 

This was still a fun project and I plan on trying to do more jams.
